Texas Boys Ranch's Organizational Aces

Organizational Aces

We are frequently approached by kind-hearted West Texans asking, "How can I help?" or "What do y'all need?" Over the next several months, we will feature various ways in which you can get involved at Texas Boys Ranch.

 

We welcome groups and individuals who would like to help our staff and children organize and clean.

 

Between school, homework, family visits, and doctor's appointments, both our children and houseparents are hard pressed for time. You can imagine how easy it can be to get disorganized in a house with eight to ten children.

 

If you've got the gift of organization, we need you! Organizational Aces organize cabinets, drawers, rooms. They are our angels. This time and effort improves our children's homes, and it gives our houseparents more time with their children.

Texas Boys Ranch has been raising funds to build an Education/Recreation Therapy Center, Therapeutic Riding Facility, and Social Services Wing for the boys and girls of Texas Boys Ranch.

Sam's Club Presents Texas Boys Ranch with Donation  

Spring BreakWe are blessed by the Lubbock community and surrounding areas. This month, Texas Boys Ranch was so please to recieve a generous donation given by Sam's Club of Lubbock.

Upon the opening of the new store, Sam's Club presented TBR with a donation to go towards feeding and clothing our children. We are grateful for the support of Sam's Club and all of our bighearted donors.

Gone Fishin'

Gone fishinWe enjoy an opportunity to give our children a memory they will never forget. We have that opportunity with an All Girl's Fishing Trip.

Next weekend our girls will be going to Camp Gene Ashby in Mason, Texas as part of the program Operation Orphan. Our girls will enjoy a fun-filled weekend with fishing, hiking, and some much needed girl time with their housemoms.

We hope this will be a great weekend getaway for our girls, and a weekend that will give them a memory to last a lifetime.

Lost in Translation

Boy SmilingAaron and his siblings came to Texas Boys Ranch almost a year ago. A year ago, seven year old Aaron had such a difficult time with speech that his older siblings had to translate to the staff what Aaron was saying.

Houseparents and caseworkers worked quickly to get Aaron to the speech therapist. For the first time in Aaron's life he was going to school, getting help with his speech, and learning how to read and write.

The growth we've seen in Aaron over the last year is breath taking. Thanks to his speech therapist and Aaron's hard work, he no longer needs his siblings to translate. Aaron's also excelling in school. He's always the first dressed and ready for the bus in the morning.

These are the changes you, our supporters, are responsible for. You have made it possible for Aaron to see a speech therapist, to go to school, to be fed, clothed and loved. Thank you for your belief in our ministry and your belief in Aaron.
