Ranch Hands

“I want to get involved, but I’m not sure how.” This  is a common phrase we have been hearing at Texas Boys Ranch for a while now. We have good people with great hearts that want to get involved. We put a committee together and created several volunteer options for a volunteer program we are calling “Ranch Hands”.

Our Volunteer Coordinator, Russ Miller, had this to say about the program: “I believe this new program will bring the love of Godly people into the lives of kids who do not know Lubbock loves them.”

Ranch Wranglers

Do you like a hard day’s work? Sign up for a Ranch Work Day. This is a great opportunity for individuals and groups interested in helping at our 460 acre Ranch by painting cottages, working in flower beds, and more.

Memory Makers

Take an opportunity to make a child’s day. Plan exciting activities, on or off campus, and leave a memory forever.

Supper Club

Are you a great cook? Can you order food like a pro? Sign up for our Ranch Supper Club. Commit to bringing a meal out to one of our cottages. This makes a huge difference to our children and houseparents.

Scrapbook Saviors

If scrapbooking is your calling, then we need you. Help create scrapbooks for our children. Give them something to remember for a lifetime.

Organizational Aces

Are your organizational skills through the roof? We need you! With eight children in each cottage, you can imagine the chaos. Organizational Aces help organize the cottages to benefit the children and their homes.

Homework Heros

For those of you who have an ability to teach, we need you. We offer tutoring Monday through Thursday, from 4pm to 6pm. Sign up to become a Homework Hero.

Recreation Ranchers

Our children enjoy several recreational activities that promote teambuilding and self-confidence. Become a Recreation Rancher and assist our Recreation Coordinator with fun activities. 

Clothing Sponsor

While it’s true genuine confidence has nothing to do with clothing, for many of our children who have poor self-esteem, looking good helps. Help sponsor a child’s clothing needs and have a direct impact on their confidence.

Birthday Sponsor

Were you born to make birthdays great? We need your help making our children’s birthdays special. Become a Birthday Sponsor by donating gift cards, gifts, or throwing a birthday party!

Cottage Sponsor

Improve the children’s home environment by becoming a cottage sponsor. Donate towards vacations, outings, décor, and more. Make an impact on the livelihood of our children.

TBR Buddies

You can get directly involved with a child one-on-one. Come out and play ball, talk or just spend time with one of our children.

Mentor Sponsor Family

Become a mentor sponsor family to a child in care. Invite a sponsor child into your home, on outings, vacations, and more. This program helps our children and youth develop life changing relationships with caring families

Houseparent Sponsor

Can you imagine parenting up to ten children day in and day out? It’s exhausting, but our houseparents continue to bless our children’s lives with their unconditional love. If you like to help relieve a little stress from our houseparents by treating them to a hotel on their time off, or providing a gift card for dinner, this is the volunteer opportunity for you!

BusinessMENtors

Most of our children have never had a positive male role model before coming to TBR. If you see yourself mentoring boys, ages 13 to 16, in successful business practices, you could help create productive citizens in society. This could be a wonderful volunteer opportunity for you.
